DEMPSEY LOOKING FORWARD TO STAR MAZDA TEST

UK Formula Ford race winner in 2006 and Leinster Trophy winner in 2007, along with the Golden Helmet, Martin Donnelly Trophy and Walter Hayes Trophy, also a Dunlop/Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of the Year finalist, Peter Dempsey will travel to America this month to test a Star Mazda car for two days with crack American racing team Anderson Racing.

Having won nearly everything possible in Formula Ford, Dempsey has his sights set firmly on moving up to the American Star Mazda Championship in 2008. He will do a two day test with Anderson Racing at their test track in Florida on the 16th and 17th of December but will stay on until after Christmas and may complete some more testing during this period.

“ I am really looking forward to this, especially as the Team are very interested in me doing a deal with them,” said Peter.

Dempsey travels to the States on the 13th of December and has a couple of days to get used to the time difference and weather, before he starts his test program. Peter also hopes to make contact with Ex Irish F1 driver Derek Daly as his son is due to test with the team in an FF 2000, Peter hopes that Derek can point him in the right direction especially with his experience in America.

“I just can't wait to get going, it will be a new challenge for me in a different country and in a different car also with a different Team, as I really only have raced on my Dad's team Cliff Dempsey Racing up to this point, it would be great if I can make contact with Derek Daly as he is a legend in my eyes and I have heard so much about him as I was growing up.”
