DEMPSEY CLOSE TO STAR MAZDA DEAL

Peter Dempsey is getting closer to a drive in Star Mazda, the American equivalent to Formula 3. Having spent two days testing with Anderson Racing at their private test track in Florida. Dempsey impressed the team so much that they offered him a deal there and then.

Having set a new track record at the Anderson Racing circuit on day one, Peter Dempsey followed that up with an even quicker time on day two, going a second a lap quicker. This was the first time a Star Mazda car ran on the Anderson Park circuit and the team were very impressed with the professional approach Dempsey had along with his speed and feed back.

Dan Anderson the team owner commented, "We knew Peter had a very good reputation in Europe but he exceed all of our expectations."

Peter returns to America on the 5th of January for a two day test with Anderson Racing, this time at the Sebring FL circuit and hopes to impress the team even more with his speed to enable him to complete his deal for the 2008 season.

“I am really looking forward to my second test with Anderson Racing and this time there will be the other Star Mazda teams, so I will see how my times compare. I enjoyed the two-day test at Anderson Park circuit but it will be nice to get out with other Star Mazda drivers. I just can’t wait.”

 

The two day test is on the 7th and 8th of January at Sebring and although Peter has to learn the track the team expect him to be very competitive.
