29th January 2008

DAY TWO DEMPSEY QUICKEST AGAIN

Peter Dempsey was quickest by 1 second on day two of the offical IMSA Star Mazda test at Sebring on Tuesday 29th January 2008.

Dempsey only had two sessions on day two, both in the morning, he had planned to run another set of new tyres and go for even a quicker time but when he discussed it with the Andersen Racing Team they decided to stay on the tyres he ran the day before.

Whilst all the other competitors ran new tyres, Peter still ended up 1 second quicker than anyone else, completing a very successful two-day test.

“I am over the moon with the test and to be a second quicker on old tyres when everyone else was on new, gives me a big advantage. The team, my engineer and mechanic have been brilliant. I have had the best car on the track for the two days and this has made my job a lot easier. I really have to thank Dan Andersen the team owner, he has a fantastic team which I am very comfortable in," Peter said.

Dempsey has a 5-week break then he is due back for more testing before the first race at Sebring on 14th March.
